Rachel and Mamiko, so "chelmico"—a new generation of wrap units that send life-size messages freely, are now attracting attention from all over the world. The starting point of the music starts from the stage of the "Shibukaru Festival" held in front of Shibuya PARCO in 2014. After that, they also appeared in PARCO's corporate message "SPECIAL IN YOU." and were closely related to PARCO. About the driving force expressed by Rachel and Mamiko
In May 2021, Rachel gave birth to his first child and became his mother. After giving birth, he told me that he was full of new excitement every day. "I'm really impressed every day these days. When I'm with a child, I'm always aware that it's amazing. During this time, when I saw "Ponyo" together, the appearance was completely different from when I was a student, and I had an interesting experience. It's a day that I'm impressed by the fact that children teach me such things. When I make a song, "I wish society could become a little brighter" or "What can I do as an adult?" "What can I do through music?" The idea has always come to be somewhere in the corner of my head," says Rachel.
It was in 2014 that chelmico started its activities. Next year we are expecting an anniversary of the 10th anniversary. After his debut, he gained popularity with the momentum of dropping flying birds and swept the music world. What is the driving force behind Mamiko's work as an artist?
"I like music so much. I really like singing and making it. I'm really happy to be able to do my best. Now……I can't imagine myself not doing this job. What I value in expression is whether I can "sympathize" when I hear it later. With the music that suddenly flowed, "Wow, it's so cool!" I think it's a bent, isn't it? I am making it with the aim of becoming such music." (Mamiko)
